"Haven't made any claims yet. This review refers to choosing State Farm vs other insurers.

I comparatively shop for insurance (homeowners, condo, renters, auto, life, umbrella) online. I check insurance company credit ratings. I use a compare & contrast insurance calculators like NerdWallet and Bankrate. And yet, I still made mistakes by choosing my insurance plans online, which cost me. The agents at State Farm helped me fix errors I didn't realize I'd made. Had I gone with David Roberts' office years ago I would have saved 20%-30% annually.

I've had insurance plans with Geico, American Family, Lemonade, and Liberty Mutual. This isn't to say that the state farm *plans* are cheaper, it's that the in-person conversation with the experienced, thorough, and knowledgeable agent helped me save money because my plans are now *accurate.*

I hope that if I ever have to file a claim, the in-person relationship will be as helpful as the in-person planning was.

"I highly recommend going to a different agent, if I could leave zero stars I would but unfortunately it doesn’t give that option. This office as a whole lacks customer service skills, professionalism, and truly listening to their customer. "Broker Ryan at this State Farm office is deceptive. I was switched to a GAINSCO policy just two weeks after starting a State Farm policy, because they suddenly claimed I was ineligible for State Farm coverage. I was pressured into unnecessary renter's insurance. Then, the GAINSCO quote I was given increased on the day the down payment was due. I don't understand why they give you a quote and then re-run it giving you a higher premium than they quoted you before - it should've been finalized upon being approved. This is deceptive and I believe it's a sales tactic and way of getting your money and a commission. Also be aware of brokers asking you to give them good reviews after 1 month's of coverage, they'll re-run your MVR and come up with some lame excuse and say it's in the underwriting's hands. This is also a sales tactic to get them to look good, get recognition and a commission. Beware of these scamming brokers and their deceptive sales tactics that leave you for dead in the end. Bait-and-switch tactics and a complete lack of transparency."
